Arashiyama Bamboo Forest to Monkey Park

The beautiful Arashiyama bamboo grove and the mountaintop Iwatayama Monkey Park are two of the most popular attractions in Arashiyama.

If you have a few hours in Arashiyama, you can do both the walk through the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and visit the Iwatayama Monkey Park.

While you can walk from the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest to the monkey park entrance in about 15 to 20 minutes, note that there is an uphill hike of about 20-30 minutes to get to the monkey park at the top of the mountain.
