Fushimi Inari to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove by Train
From the Inari Station just outside the Fushimi Inari Shrine, take the JR Nara Line to Kyoto Station. This train ride is just 4 minutes.
At Kyoto Station, you’ll have to change over to the JR Sagano Line, which will take you to the Saga Arashiyama Station. This train ride is 16 minutes (12 minutes if you catch a rapid train).
From the Saga Arashiyama Station, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest is about a 10- to 12-minute walk.
There are frequent trains on both lines. Allowing for time to make the changeover at Kyoto Station, expect the travel time from Fushimi Inari to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove to be about 45 to 50 minutes.
