Where is Arashiyama Bamboo Forest?

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, also known as Arashiyama Bamboo Grove or Sagano Bamboo Forest, is located in the Arashiyama district of Kyoto, Japan.

While you can access the forest directly from the main street in Kyoto, most visitors combine a walk through the famous grove with a visit to the Tenryu-ji Temple, also one of Kyoto’s iconic sights.

Leave the temple through the north gate, and take a left straight into the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest!
